My name is Marilyn Hyde and welcome to my acupuncture practice!

For the past eleven years I have practiced acupuncture in Old Town Alexandria.  I received my Masters of Acupuncture from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute – now known as TAI SOPHIA -- in 1997.   I was nationally certified in 1997 and am licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine.  My initial training concentrated on five element acupuncture, which is a theory in the classics that likens our internal workings to the natural world around us.  I have studied extensively other theories of acupuncture since graduation, and am also certified in Japanese meridian therapy.

My practice has been good to me.   It grows by referrals, the majority of my clients having been referred to me from other clients or from physicians who know my work.

I am very fortunate to have worked with people who are committed to their physical, emotional and spiritual health.  My ideal clients are those who are dedicated to the full development of their journey through life.  I have enjoyed working with each and every one of them and have learned from their situations.

I am also a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher.   Kundalini Yoga uses repetition of motion and postures to open the spine and to activate the glands of the endocrine system.  Practicing and studying this type of yoga has enhanced my understanding of how the endocrine system works in our body.   Because of this study I have a better understanding of the importance of movement and meditation techniques as adjuncts to well being.

I teach a Saturday yoga class at Radiance Yoga, www.radiance-yoga.net, also in Old Town.  Please feel free to browse their website.
